Bedside Singing

using our voices to create a peaceful, supportive and loving environment

"Thank you all so much for your warm hearts and your beautiful singing this evening. It meant so much to Doris and to me. We hope you will come back - it was a healing experience for all those involved."

– Tricia Kammerer (Comment from a caregiver after a sing)

GraceNoteSingers is a volunteer chorus dedicated to the art and practice of singing at bedside for the dying and those receiving palliative care, or facing a life transition.

With a broad range of songs, we offer our voices to the dying, their caregivers and friends. Awake or asleep, conscious or not, we believe our singing can be a calming presence. A visit with Grace Note Singers is both comforting and emotional, touching hearts while easing the grief and fear that often accompany end of life. Gentle kindness, soothing songs and focused energy are important parts of our visits. A sing will generally last around twenty minutes with 3 to 6 singers present. Songs will vary based on the person’s musical preferences, spiritual traditions and current state of being. We are always open to suggestions and information from family members and caregivers. We welcome participation by simply listening or by singing along with us. We sing in many settings: hospice centers, private homes, nursing homes and hospitals.
There is no charge for this service; it is our gift.
